Meet Coach Wanda

    The Perfect balance of

    TOUGH LOVE

(so you will be seen, heard, supported & get results)

Whether you prefer a coach who will give you an occasionally-needed kick in the pants or a gentle guide who will listen and give you actionable tips that work for YOU…I’m the coach who can walk that line for you.

My greatest passion is facilitating the transformation of women to their full radiance by helping them to increase their strength and resilience in mind, body, and spirit.

Being in the United States Air Force gave me the opportunity to learn from an incredibly diverse group of people where I was exposed to female leaders, African-American mentors and other incredible leaders, peers, and subordinates alike who invested in me and told me that I belonged amongst the best of the best…and I believed them.

And you, my friend, belong amongst the best of the best, too. That’s why you’re here—to finally invest in yourself in a way that will give you lasting results, power, and confidence.

    About Wanda

    7

I’m a mother of three adult children and a “Neenie” to my precious granddaughter.  I’m also the proud wife to my AMAZING husband of more than 20 years, Brandon, who is…in my opinion, the reason the sun comes up every morning.  I am a competitive bodybuilder and running enthusiast.

I grew up as an Army brat.

My dad was a soldier in the Army he taught me the value of hard work and how to be tough when necessary.

My mother balanced that lesson out by teaching me to love hard; and that my love is a gift to use in service of God.

In school, I thrived in sports and was a naturally gifted athlete in track, volleyball, basketball, and weightlifting.  I may have overcompensated with sports to fill the gap I had as a “satisfactory” student.

Later in life, I figured out that my academic struggles in grade school had little to do with my intellect and everything to do with my lack of confidence;  fitness helped me build my confidence.

I received an Air Force Commissioning Scholarship and earned a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Management from Fayetteville State University in North Carolina.

After graduating at the top of my Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) class with Distinguished Graduate honors, I was commissioned in the Air Force as a Second Lieutenant in 2002 where I grew more confident and developed as a leader and an athlete.

I went on to proudly serve as a Contracting Officer, Headquarters Staff Action Officer, two-time Squadron Commander, and Deputy Group Commander. I had the honor of deploying to Iraq and Afghanistan on four contingency tours and earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and a Master of Military Operational Arts and Science (MAS) before retiring on 1 April 2020.

Back when I was 22 years old, I was introduced to fitness competitions and I dreamed of one day becoming a competitor.  At the age of 41, I put aside dread I had about my stretchmarks and other physical flaws, invested in myself and hired a personal trainer who helped me get my fitness and nutrition in order.

After nine months of focused training, I competed in my first figure bodybuilding competition and took 3rd place in my class. I’ve continued to compete over the last few years and have placed in the top 4 of my respective classes.

I’m a National Academy of Sports Medicine Certified Personal Trainer and founder of Resilience, Health & Fitness L.L.C., where I serve a select group of highly motivated women to conquer any obstacles standing between them and their health & fitness goals.
